  • Really wanted this to replace my Uverse TV but...

    By Nelson Ned
After 2 years of a low promotional price on Uverse I decided to look for a replacement that didn’t break the bank and didn’t require renegotiation of promotional pricing every year or two. Youtube TV seemed like a dream on paper: great channel lineup, works on any device including my Apple TV, unlimited cloud DVR, and sharing your subscription with up to 6 in total. I signed up for the trial and even that was glitchy. I was being offered an extended trial from Youtube tv themselves but every time I tried to enroll on my iPhone it redirected me to the iTunes payment system and I was charged. After being charged on day 1 I contacted Apple and they refunded me as a courtesy but I did get to try out the service for a month. During this month I was able to test extensively on all my devices: iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, and on my Macbook Pro. It worked good on all the devices but not great. I have an OTA digital antenna and perhaps, the picture quality on that spoiled me, but Youtube TV picture quality compared to OTA antenna left much to be desired. I have a wired ATT Gigabit Fiber connection on my Apple TV and somehow the streams always defaulted to a lower pixelated resolution. I always had to go in and adjust to the HD resolution manually. This was a major pain especially if I had to be changing channels often. Even Uverse TV, which is not exactly known for super duper picture quality, had a better picture quality. Another drawback was the user interface. This may just be me coming from cable TV interface but the UI is just too confusing and illogical. Sure I figured it out but the gestures and the number of steps to record shows and seasons and to retrieve recordings was just vastly inferior to the Uverse TV interface. These drawbacks were amplified on the Apple TV remote as they further showed the limitations and the steep learning curve of the Youtube TV UI. It’s a shame because the price and features were just right. I’ve moved on to Hulu live TV and so far, for my needs and thanks to its vastly superior UI, that is probably a keeper.
  • Ok

I think it would be better if I could change my location settings with out tech support. Also could be more iOS friendly.
  • Unusable

Was working fine until a couple updates ago. Now when watching live, the programming will jump back 3 hours on the same channel. Nothing stops this. Recently Watched column has been replaced by meta data. Rebooting doesn’t fix. Looking forward to seeing what TV services Apple will be offering before deciding which one to jump to instead of this $40/month crap.
  • Thieves!!!

Charged my apple account immediately for what I thought to be a free trial. Watch your account for a $39.99 charge which seems absolutely ridiculous and overpriced!!!
  • Great Value

  • Es engañoso

Te dice que lo pruebes gratis un mes y a la hora de instalarlo te pide método de pago .. porque engañan mejor que no pongan que es gratis un mes 😡
  • Typical Google Awful

    By hale0nearth
No fluid scrolling through live channels. Swipe swipe swipe swipe swipe ad infinitive. Get real. Being Big Brother was bad enough. I already hates these guys. The clunky, chunky interaction is typical engineer emotional design. How can’t I stand Alphabet? Let me count the ways.
  • iPad Version PnP Lets You See Multiple Live Video Streams At Once

    By Flerkk
Helps avoid Advertising. Find a stream with actual content and watch until the Ads start. Then go back and pick another stream. I love it!
  • Love YouTube TV with Chromecast and Google Home!

    By Obi-Weiss
We dropped cable/dish for YouTube TV. We have Chromecasts on all our TVs and Google Home Mini’s in each room. We also buy all our movies on Googleplay. With Google TV, I can ask Google Home to play the Sharks game and “boom” it’s playing on the TV. I can watch sports anywhere. I can listen to the news on YouTube TV while driving to work. I love listening to Game shows while stuck in traffic. Our family loves YouTube TV. Best deal on planet!
  • Good needs work

I think the package offered is a good value. However, the app used via Roku is good but needs some work. The fast forward pre-view window is toooo small! I am happy with the overall experience.
