My review is just really quick: It was SUPER FUN when I first got it. But I feel like you really don’t get anywhere unless you buy things and you just have to keep doing battles OVER AND OVER. So if you could make this game a little less pay to win, it would be 5 stars
  • Flawed combat system targeting as sims need addressed

This game consistently targets other enemies than those you have selected when your units attack, which will cost you matches over and over and over again. Until this is fixed it makes climbing up your shards ranking nearly impossible. Also, all sims default to the maximum possible instead of 1. This means it’s very easy to accidentally waste all of your energy when you meant to sim something once. This default setting makes not sense and needs to be changed.

This is a very mixed review. It’s a great game for longtime players or whales willing to shell out mega-mega-bucks, but it is pretty terrible for f2p/minnow newbies. There’s always a p2p/f2p divide in these games (as there should be) but in SWGOH the divide is like the Pacific Ocean (and growing). The endgame has evolved so much while the early-game has been static, and the result is a new player will NEVER get up to speed without spending serious money. Like thousands. Not a joke. The easily farmable free toons haven’t been updated in years, and they get you nowhere nowadays. Actually worse than nowhere- farming them actually sets you backward by very strongly encouraging you to waste resources better allocated elsewhere. You want Revan? Literally a year of hard-paced grinding AT BEST, and by the time you get him he will almost certainly be nerfed in favor of the latest cashgrab meta lead. The latest “Quality of Life” update was a frustrating joke, just another useless cash grab, “fixing” things to make it easier to accidentally spend all of you accumulated resources with touch of a single button. It’s sad really. A year ago, I’d have given this game 5 stars, but having played other games that ended, SWGOH feels like it’s circling the drain.

I’m a huge fan of Star Wars so downloading this app was a no brainer. It used to be fun . Now there’s a few things that are very frustrating. In fleet arena and squad arena, the tap anywhere after a defeat doesn’t work so it’s almost like the developers are taunting me by forcing the player to stay on the defeat screen longer. It’s an obvious ploy to pay to play. Along with the increasing pop up ads it’s getting annoying. Make the tap work like in all the other battles please. The other thing that’s annoying is my player level is up to 80 but I’m stuck with level 70 or below for my characters, but battles are being offered for levels my characters can’t fight in. Like in the events. Can’t the selection be limited to the level of characters instead of the player level? Bring back the battles my characters can actually fight in please! Quit offering events etc for 5 to 10 levels above them. Seems like it would make more sense and make the game progress better instead of the stagnation I’m stuck with right now. I’m seriously considering deleting the app simply because I am unable to progress and I don’t have access to battles my characters can fight in anymore. Just as I get closer then the battles offered are even further away. I also got shoved into a new guild halfway through a raid and lost the rewards I was supposed to get for being in the top 3. How am I going to be compensated for that wasted time? I’d like to have a choice to move to the next guild once I reach the requirements instead of being booted automatically. It’s essential to progress to be able to fight the raids effectively and the last tier was just getting good before the automatic “promotion” killed my progress. Now because of the mismatch between available battles and my characters I am not progressing.

Thank you for adding Mother Talzin. A good quality of game improvement would be appreciated if you made the palpatine and today event more common.
