I date the beginning of my love for technology and gadgets in 2003 – it was then, in the summer of 2003, that 11-year-old fourth-grader Kirill Sergeev bought his first magazine Russian Mobile (I did not have a computer and the Internet then). As I remember now, there was a luxury Siemens SL55 slider on the cover. Since then and to this day, there is no better gift or purchase for me than a new gadget.
During all this time, I had only one gadget that I desperately wanted, but could not buy (which I still regret) – this is Siemens SX1. When the opportunity to buy the first smartphone appeared, there was already a Nokia 6630 on sale with Symbian 8.0 and with the best characteristics, so the choice fell on it. Although it was also a cult model, but not as much as the legendary “SYCH”. But his time had already passed, so he remained my unfulfilled dream of a gadget lover.
Since then, my needs for this or that gadget were sooner or later satisfied, although in fairness, I note that some crazy dreams did not appear. Until five or six years ago, I saw the first test drives of a Tesla car on Russian YouTube. Up to this point, in my picture of the world, it seemed somehow distant, conceptual and completely unsuitable for operation in Russian realities, especially in my hometown. But Tesla is in Russia, it carries its owner around Moscow, it can be serviced, “refueled” with electricity from a 380V outlet and, in general, used as a normal car, and this is no longer a vague future, but a completely objective reality. There would be finances, as they say.
Since then, Tesla has slipped into my list of the most desirable gadgets in reality on this planet. I hope that the fate of the SX1 will not befall it and I will someday buy myself such an electric car-gadget.
Until that happens, I’ll share with you some funny and curious facts about these machines. It will be interesting!
Dog mode
Tesla founder Elon Musk and other Tesla employees closely monitor the feedback of their users and try to actively respond to it. For example, last fall, a number of Tesla owners asked the company to implement a “dog mode” in their cars so that passers-by would not worry when passing by a car with pets left in it, for example, dogs. It took just a few months, and this functionality came with the next software update.
Now, leaving the car and leaving the animals in it, you can display the inscription on the multimedia display of the car: “My owner will be back soon. Do not worry. The air conditioner is on and the temperature inside is N degrees. ”
Activation is carried out in the climate control settings, and the mode is called “Dog Mode”.
Opening doors and trunk from the display
All the doors of Tesla cars open from the display, which means that lazy Don Juans do not have to get out of the car and open the door to their passion. We pressed a button and any door opened! The main thing is not to miss and not open the trunk, otherwise you never know what dirt can be seen there.
Moreover, the driver's door can be configured so that it opens automatically when you approach. As a pet, you just come up, and the car is already glad to you!
Sun visors
If you sit in the front seat of the Tesla X, you will notice that its windshield flows too smoothly into the roof, and so much that you feel like driving a helicopter. The glass ends only behind the driver's back, which means that there can be no sun visors in the usual place. How did Tesla engineers get out of the situation? See below. Surprisingly, there is no electric drive here, just a magnet system, which is a little frustrating.
Fart pillow
Where is Tesla's strength, brother? On autopilot? No. In fun!
One of the latest firmwares for Tesla has become a virtual pillow-fart. It can be “put” under the front passenger seat, and there is a choice of 6 different gas release sounds, as well as an arbitrary option. If this does not seem enough to you, then you can assign this awkward “ringtone” to turn on the turn signal. Is it really scary for Tesla software developers to rebuild too?
Classic Atari Games
Do you often have to expect someone to drive a car? At the moment when all social networks have already been scrolled through, the dialogues in messengers are answered, and the dull track in the world is playing on the radio, Tesla owners can entertain themselves with classic Atari games! There are as many as 6 legendary titles to choose from, and you can control them both from the touch screen and using a PlayStation or XBox controller connected to the USB port.
The next step should be the ability to drive a car with a joystick, at least hundreds of electric car fans are already asking for this. And whether it will be is not yet clear. Still, it is not very safe, suddenly someone imagines himself Tommy Versetti or Cj and starts crushing pedestrians and knocking down lamp posts.
Romantic fireplace
To spend a romantic evening with your soul mate, Tesla owners don't have to bother too much. After all, you can just drive to the nearest MacAuto, buy a couple of cheeseburgers, McFlurries and a cup of your favorite coffee, park in any quiet place, even in your own backyard, and launch Romance Mode. At this moment, a virtual fireplace with characteristic crackles will light up on the display of the car, and some wonderful track by Barry White will play in the speakers. Metamodernism, damn it! It's not just a fact that an ordinary human girl will be able to feel all the romance of the moment. Well, that's okay. Did you find several tens of thousands of dollars for Tesla? Then it won't be a problem to spend another ten on a girlfriend from the Real Doll range. So you can also save on coffee.
Orchestra machine
Now let's talk about romance in a mature relationship. When the spouse calls the owner of Tesla X to a symphonic music concert, he answers her: “Pfft, what didn't I see there !?”, enters a special access code “holiday”, gets out of the car, closes it and stands next to the car, hugging it slightly the woman of your whole life. Together they watch such a concert performed by Tesla X together with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
Water and dirt by the collar
Not all the cat is Shrovetide and not all the teslovod are happy. Despite the coolest design of the Tesla X's rear doors, made in the style of gull wings, in the fall-spring season, dirt and water flow down directly under the collar of the rear passengers, much like from the visor of your porch. I don't have a YouTube proof for you, so take my word for it and see how the rear doors open neatly with very limited side space.
Russian realities and free parking in Moscow
In general, in Russia there are few useful benefits for owners of electric cars, including for teslavods, but one significant one is free municipal parking in Moscow in any paid zones without a barrier. But only in Moscow, because the municipalities in Belgorod have not heard anything about electric cars yet.
But if free parking in Moscow is canceled, Tesla has a trump card!
They say that even e-mobiles may soon be allowed absolutely legally to move along the allocated lane, but so far this has not happened.
Must-have for tourists
Tesla cars are great for tourism enthusiasts, because on road trips you will have to stop about every 250-350 km and forcibly go exploring local attractions for 5 hours at a time. Tesla owners understand the meaning of the old Russian saying “the quieter you go, the further you will be” better than others. The higher the speed, the more often you have to stop for recharging, and therefore, study the local flavor in the radius of a suitable outlet.
Here's a funny Tesla gadget worth $ 35,000 in the United States. Do you want such a machine?
