Introduction
Not so long ago, a review material about the modern line of models Xiaomi was published on the site.
5th Generation Lineup Guide Redmi
In the comments to it, you could see a request for a similar material on the line of devices Huawei. Obviously, Chinese manufacturers are in vain chasing the maximum variety of assortments to the detriment of the normal perception of the line by buyers. Nevertheless, let's try to understand the smartphones offered by the brand.
A few words about where the presence of the two brands under which smartphones produced by the company are sold Huawei came from. Perhaps this suggests an analogy with the auto world and the well-known selection of certain brands from the portfolios of large auto concerns to ensure sales of a specific target audience. Likewise, the brand Honor is for the company an attempt to hook a younger clientele with well-defined smartphone requirements. Within the framework of this brand, devices with a good price-performance ratio are sold, while the calculation was initially made for sales via the Internet, but now the devices Honor are sold in retail along with phones Huawei. Within the parent brand Huawei, as a rule, there are more premium devices, the best devices that the company can create today, as well as devices created with increased attention to design.
However, precisely in order to simplify the understanding of what is currently offered on the market Huawei, I propose not to divide the products into two brands. In my opinion, this division is of a marketing nature and can only confuse a potential buyer. For us, as for reasonable consumers, it is more important to get the right price-performance ratio, and not the nameplate (or not?).
So, instead of the division into brands offered by the company, let's divide smartphones into standard price segments – budget segment, middle segment and flagship devices.
Budget segment

Fresh and the most budgetary device from the manufacturer's line, an entrance ticket to this door. The combination of characteristics and price looks quite reasonable if the user does not make high demands on the device. Of course, you can buy similar characteristics cheaper, because 'xiaomi is better', but you should also think about an official guarantee and support, which is again important for an undemanding user. In addition, screens with an aspect ratio of 18: 9 have already reached this segment of the market.

A step higher in price is the device, which today looks strange due to the update of a more budget model. A screen with a smaller diagonal, a platform from MTK and similar characteristics at a higher price – to be honest, I see no reason to buy this device now, it's worth waiting for an update.

Perhaps it is the middle segment of the brand's smartphones that causes a headache for buyers – a whole scattering of devices that differ from each other only in details. Moreover, the more expensive device is not necessarily more modern or packaged – an example of unsuccessful positioning of the line. In such a picture, the P Smart looks like a reasonable choice – an excellent combination of characteristics and price, such a device will suit most users and will serve as a workhorse for a person who does not want to overpay for top-end devices.

And here is the first example – can you find 10 differences from the same P Smart? Glass and, accordingly, less practical body (fragile and attracting fingerprints), pseudo-flagship design of the past generation – perhaps that's all. Whether the specified overpayment is worth, everyone can decide for himself.

I think this device is a very interesting purchase, especially for club members Huawei at a reduced price. A balanced combination of price and characteristics, good design, all modern sales drivers (18: 9 screen, two cameras, etc.). Everything is fair: less money and lower requirements – take P Smart, want more – it makes sense to look at the 7X. We can say that this model sets the standard for its price level. This is a kind of collective image, the answer to the question 'What does a smartphone, ordinary for 2018, look like?'. Cons – the lack of a USB Type-C connector (for some it may be a plus) and the lack of NFC – there can be no two opinions, this is a minus, simply insignificant for those who do not use various Pay technologies., /

I myself am a user of the first Nova, I like the device. I consider updating the model controversial (they removed NFC, changed the chipset to Kirin), and turning the model into a whole zoo of devices is a whim of the company in order to create the appearance of a wide range. Since the characteristics of this family of models also look like a zoo, I will try to briefly highlight the differences that will help you make a choice. So, Nova 2 and 2 plus differ only in screen diagonal (plus, of course, more). 2i – essentially the same Nova 2 plus, but with a display with an aspect ratio of 18: 9. M – marketing. But the Nova 2s is a more advanced device, which can be called an improved version of the 2i – an even larger screen with the same aspect ratio and a more powerful chipset (the flagship of its own production for the previous generation of devices).

As you have most likely already noticed, the company loves to make Lite versions of its flagships – they put simpler components in a case of a similar design, shake them up, but do not mix them, get a good income from such a solution. In fact, the approach is obviously viable – let's see how it repeats Apple. I hope Cupertino will make a new SE in the X form factor, otherwise it's somehow a shame to lag behind the Chinese. If without irony, the above device could even return me to the camp Apple. Well, the P20 Lite could actually be a nice purchase if you don't want to bear a couple of average salaries for the flagship in the regions. For 20 thousand rubles, you can get a pleasant and modern design, technical characteristics corresponding to the price and a couple of nice bonuses – for example, USB Type-C for convenience, aptX HD for high-quality sound without wires and NFC (!) For complete happiness.

The new flagship of the line Honor. Good. An unusual glass body that changes color when tilted, the latest in-house chipset Huawei with AI for the camera, a good price that will get even better over time and with promotions. In my opinion – the brand's bestseller. In connection with the release of the smartphone, two articles from the category of '10 reasons' appeared on the site, and they considered both possible pro and certain contra.
My 10 reasons not to buy Honor 10 10 reasons to buy Honor 10
After reviewing both articles again, I concluded that the reasons 'for' are still stronger, while the reasons not to buy the device refer to private moments that are important for the author as an experienced user who knows his needs for a smartphone. Therefore, despite some details that do not allow us to call the smartphone really ultimatum, I would recommend this device for purchase.
First look at Honor 10
Honor View 10
- Positioning: adapter between the flagships of the lines Honor and Huawei
- NFC: yes
- Official price in China: 2,550 yuan ($ 394 or approximately 25,000 rubles)
- Price on AliExpress: not shown
- Official price in the Russian Federation: 34,990 rubles.
- Predecessor: Honor 8 pro.

- Li-Ion 3750 mAh battery, talk time up to 22 hours (3G), 548 hours standby time (3G)
- Front camera 13 megapixels, f / 2.0
- The main camera is dual, 16-megapixel (f / 1.8) and 20-megapixel (black and white module), extended aperture mode, video recording in FullHD (60 frames per second) and 4K
- FM radio
- Fingerprint sensor on the bezel

- GPS / A-GPS / GLONASS / BDS
- Dimensions – 157×75.3×7.6 mm, weight – 172 grams
And again we see a strange positioning – this time already in the flagships, although, it would seem, is there something that could go wrong? The metal case, the increased amount of RAM and battery – is it worth the overpayment compared to Honor 10? Although if you compare this device with the P20, the situation starts to look like a good discount for an almost flagship device, albeit with a different design. So you have to choose what state your glass is in.
By the way, the positioning will become even more strange if you remember that this device has a twin brother in terms of the main components – Mate 10 Pro, which is not officially presented in our country. In general, the Mate line for Huawei looks like an analogue of the Note line for Samsung – maximum features for maximum money, and all this is in a phablet form factor. An offer for those who do not attach importance to the price, but want to get the best for their money. Perhaps the new device of the Mate line was not introduced to the Russian market due to the imminent appearance of the P20 Pro on it in order to avoid cannibalization of sales with its devices. In any case, it should be borne in mind that if you need the best phablet from Huawei – there is such a device, you just have to consider the gray options.

It shoots better than anything, including Nikon bodies with a price tag of '300'. Approximately this perception was apparently sought in Huawei. Well, shut up and take my money. The devices turned out to be flagship with almost no discounts (protection from water in the junior device, m, Huawei?). The older model received a display OLED and a third camera. The technical figures in the 'Camera' column are striking, and comparative tests confirm that the engineers did not get their bowl of rice (or sausage with stewed cabbage in the case of Leica) for nothing.

Conclusion
What do we end up with? I noticed that when writing text, I often called the devices excellent value for money. This, in my opinion, is exactly the line of smartphones Huawei in general. The growth of the company only proves that the path they have chosen is correct and will lead to further prosperity. Questions are only raised by the mess in the middle and to a lesser extent in the upper segments. In my opinion, the company needs to put the line in order, remove devices that practically repeat each other and fix minor flaws like the lack of NFC in some models. What do you think?
