Stylish bamboo lid, wireless speaker, ultra-portable projector or extra battery capacity – all of these options are available with the purchase of add-on modules for Moto Z.
As you already know, on my Moto Z test, the review will be released literally on Wednesday-Thursday, and in order not to overload it, I decided to talk about all the optional modules for this device in a separate article. Each module is attached to the back cover and performs one specific function, which we will discuss now.
Back cover
The Moto Z has a very thin body, but the camera module sticks out a little. At first I could not understand why this was done, but everything fell into place when I saw many different back covers that can be purchased separately for the device. There's even a cool bamboo option. The smartphone becomes only slightly thicker, but it looks much more interesting, and the module stops sticking out.
Wireless speaker
JBL has very good wireless acoustics, for example, their Charge 2 speaker is praised by many users, as well as various publications. Sergey Kuzmin also spoke very well of her.
But what if you want to have such a speaker, but you don't want to buy a separate large accessory? This is where the JBL SoundBoost Speaker comes in handy. You just need to fix the module on the back cover and play your favorite music. The connection to the speakers is automatic, and the music is immediately transferred to them. The sound quality for the portable docking station is very good, it can perfectly replace your wireless speaker. And a nice bonus will be the leg on which the docking station is placed.
Battery cover
I love thin smartphones. This, by the way, is one of the reasons I immediately liked the Moto Z. However, the thinner the case, the lower the battery capacity. And although in this smartphone 2600 mAh is perfectly enough for one day of work, those who use the device very intensively may be left with 5-10% of the charge towards the late evening.
The advantage of the battery back cover is that you do not need to keep an external battery with a separate cable, your smartphone simply thickens during charging, and then the battery is removed into your bag or backpack, and you continue to use the thin device.
Portable projector
A niche but cool accessory that turns your Moto Z into a portable 480p projector. The maximum screen diagonal is 70 inches, which looks quite impressive. I tried to watch several films with this projector and was completely satisfied with it. The projector has a built-in battery, so it won't drain your smartphone.
I believe that such an accessory will appeal to people who often travel on business trips, as well as those who have to regularly show presentations at work. It is very convenient, instead of a long fuss with connecting to a projector, just put Moto Z on the table and start telling your next business plan or brilliant idea.
The cost
The smartphone itself and additional batteries will appear in the near future, so for now the prices will be indicated in dollars. I will clarify the cost in Russia and update the article.
- Back covers – $ 20-25
- Battery cover – $ 60-90
- Wireless speaker module – $ 80
- Portable projector – $ 300
Conclusion
It was with great pleasure that I tested all the modules for Moto Z and I must note that on the smartphone market, which is gradually becoming more boring, there are still such interesting and unusual solutions. It is clear that not everyone may need four modules at once, but the very ability to make a portable speaker or projector out of your smartphone is already very cool.
