Obviously, rumors about Samsung's next flagship will be in the air in the coming months, and at the beginning of February 2017 we expect the veil over the device to open slightly – perhaps on the eve of MWC.

With the excellent Galaxy S7 and S7, our expectations are extremely high. In addition, the recent Galaxy Note 7 fail, which literally blew up the world of mobile devices, gives hope that Samsung will make an extra effort in terms of quality when it comes to the next big thing.

While no credible leaks about what the Galaxy S8 might look like, we're confident that Samsung will likely remain committed to its glass and metal design, which has been in use since late 2014 when it debuted in Series A. Here are some assumptions on what Samsung designers will focus on in order to further improve the appearance of the flagship. However, these are just speculations and unfounded guesses.

It is important to say that perhaps we will see two versions of the Galaxy S8, with 5.1 ″ and 5.5 ″ screens. Their internal names are Dream and Dream2, but model numbers are more interesting. According to Samsung, the Galaxy S8 Dream and Dream2 versions are respectively numbered SM-G950 and SMG955. Since the Galaxy S7 number is SM-G930 and the S7 edge is SM-G935, we see a jump from 3 to 5.

If we talk about functions, then there is a firm belief that the company will not give up the waterproof and dustproof housing, as well as the hybrid slot for SIM / microSD cards.

What about the notorious 3.5mm jack? A couple of major manufacturers decided to abandon the standard that is more than 50 years old, and the most sensational decision belongs to Apple and its iPhone 7/7 Plus. So we can easily imagine the Korean giant, who wanted to keep up with the times in this regard, however, we are not sure that this will play into his hands. So let's keep our fingers crossed – let the 3.5mm jack stay with us in 2017.
