Bows, spears, shurikens—

Hello!

The most important event of the week has died down – the presentation Apple. Now it only remains to wait for the start of sales of new Apple smartphones. And simple games will help us pass this wait.

Among all computer games, I like the ones that involve object physics in one way or another.

Today I want to introduce you to a series of games from BYV developer.

Bows, spears, shurikens—

The series includes four games with similar game mechanics. The point of all four games is to kill the enemy before he can kill you (unexpected, right?).

However, aside the chuckles and smiles – it's time to join the battle!

Most of all I liked the game about the spear thrower. On her example, there will be a story.

The start screen greets us with a splash screen saying that the game is created on the Unity engine.

Bows, spears, shurikens—

The game asks for permission when loading. Why they are to her, I do not know, so, just in case, I refuse to grant these very permissions. Works without them.

Bows, spears, shurikens—

After the game has loaded, we see our spear thrower, which we will control. There are three main menu items on the right:

  1. play,
  2. shop (where can we go without it)
  3. settings.

On the left, the number of coins and the button to disable ads (not free). By the way, there are quite a few advertisements in the game, and one day it gets so boring that you do not regret money and buy a release from intrusive videos.

Before starting the game, you can adjust the sound (turn on / off sounds in the game and music), as well as choose which hand you will play.

After everything is set up – into battle!

Bows, spears, shurikens—

The mechanics of the game are very simple – you stand on an island, and in front of you, on the same islands, rivals appear in a random order, which must be hit with your spear. The throwing principle is similar to that of the good old Angry Birds. To throw a spear, you need to put your finger on the screen anywhere, slide your finger sideways, making a swing, choose the angle of the throw, and throw the spear by removing your finger from the screen.

Bows, spears, shurikens—

The spear flies along a trajectory that takes into account the force of gravity, so you have to aim carefully. But there is almost no time for thinking and aiming – the enemy who appeared opposite you also strives to throw something at you, be it an arrow, a spear or a fireball.

To defeat the enemy, you need either one accurate hit to the body or to the head, or two hits to the limbs.

Headshots are awarded four coins, while other fatal hits are awarded with only one coin.

Bows, spears, shurikens—

The same applies to your hero. However, your advantage is that the enemy has arrows at first, and therefore, to kill you, you need two hits (except for a head shot – one arrow is enough here).

Bows, spears, shurikens—

After you have hit the enemy, he falls off his platform picturesquely, and then, in a random place, a new enemy appears, and so on, as long as there is enough speed and accuracy.

If you are hit, then opponents with an apple on their heads begin to appear. Hitting an apple removes damage from you.

Bows, spears, shurikens—

With each killed, enemies become more and more, they become more accurate, agile and more diverse. And now two in helmets and with shields are already running at you, and from above two more are trying to hit you with arrows and spears – just have time to throw your spears.

Bows, spears, shurikens—

Wait, what other helmets and shields?

Yes, the game has the ability to improve your hero by buying additional equipment and weapons. You can buy helmets, special arrows, as well as energy spheres that protect you from arrows and spears of opponents. For all this splendor, you have to pay with coins earned in previous battles. Good equipment costs good money, which is not easy to earn.

If there are not enough coins, you can get them by watching commercials, or you can buy them for real money. Well, where can we go without donation …

In addition, after the battle, you can increase the amount of earned coins by watching commercials.

Bows, spears, shurikens—

The game is a direct heir to the first game in the series – 'The Archer'. In addition, as I said earlier, there is 'Archer 2', which has multiplayer.

Bows, spears, shurikens—

You can play with a friend on the same screen, or you can search for an opponent over the network. But, I repeat once again, I liked 'The Archer' less than 'The Javelin'. First of all, because of the gameplay. In Archer, it all comes down to constant shooting, without stopping, when there is not even a chance to think about the shot.

Bows, spears, shurikens—

The 'Javelin' allows you to enjoy the physics of the throw, accurately calculating it. But 'Ninja' I liked the least – in my opinion, the simplest of all four games. It has the most thoughtless throwing of shells, and least of all the physics of throwing. Know yourself – throw shurikens.

Bows, spears, shurikens—

Conclusion

Once again, I repeat that of all four games, the one I liked the most was 'Javelin'. However, as many people as there are opinions. If you also like simple physics games, then I recommend this series of games – addictive. All four games are great time killers when you need to while away some time. Let's see how much patience you have and what level you will reach.
