Let's imagine an ordinary modern smartphone based on Android with a display diagonal of 5 inches (well, or 5.5 inches). A thin case, I mean that the dimensions of the case are normal and familiar by modern standards, without any deviations from the norm. Now the question. Where is the most convenient location for the power button for you? On the left or right side, on the top, on the back? Maybe there is some other option that is more convenient for you?

Many now have the power button combined with a fingerprint sensor, for example, the Sony Xperia Z5. I mean, it becomes inconvenient to place it on the top end.

In general, if earlier the placement of a button (or a sensor button) on the back seemed like some unusual solution, almost a revolution, now it is perceived as quite logical and convenient. The button is also convenient as in Sony Xperia Z5, in the future it may become thinner. Well, in general, in the future, all the controls will hide under the display and we will turn on and off the smartphone by clicking on certain areas on the display (or on the case).
