Friday column No. 137. Five better names for Android N

Yesterday Google finally announced that the new version Android N will be called Nougat, meaning 'nougat'. I, like a number of other users, did not like this name, so I decided to collect five more worthy, in my opinion, alternatives.

Nutella

This option was the most popular among the readers surveyed. This is understandable, Nutella for many is a sweet reminder of childhood and evokes only positive emotions. By the way, I here once tried pancakes with 'Nutella', this is something mega-satisfying, you can eat up for one or two pancakes.

Nuts

The Nuts chocolate bar was also on the readers' list, although it was less often called Nutella. Considering that there has already been a precedent for co-branding with KitKat, the option is really suitable.

Napoleon

When I saw the first mention of this option, I just stared at the monitor for about five seconds and could not move away. How delicious this delicacy is and at the same time a great name for the new version Android.

At random?

A pun immediately appeared on the net about the fact that the new version was chosen 'at random' and this is just a beautiful play on words. To be honest, I don't like random jokes, they look too primitive.

Nesquik

The last name that came to my mind is related to the Nesquik rabbit, painted on Nestle chocolate breakfasts and their own bars. By the way, I really like their usual chocolates with a milk layer, I love them since childhood.

Conclusion

It's sad, very sad that Google doesn't bother too much with names and chooses some very primitive options. And this is after such a large-scale naming campaign with user engagement.
