Recently in Facebook one of the employees of a large company lamented that engineers spend a lot of time working on the dimensions of the device so that it fits optimally in the hand, and users end up using cheap cases from China anyway. I decided to share my opinion on this matter.
We already had an issue of Tuesday gatherings (one of the first) dedicated to covers, in which I asked about what accessories you use. But that was a long time ago, plus now I would like to talk a little about something else: is it worth wearing a smartphone in a case if the company designed it without looking at the case?
As an example, I immediately recall iPhone 6 and its slippery body. As well as he lay and felt in his hand, just as easily he could fall out of it. I honestly tried to carry the device without a case, but after a couple of falls I realized that nerves are more expensive. First, I ordered a thin plastic case for 50 rubles for Ali, and then switched to a model from Bellroy, and I still wear my smartphone in it. Would I like to wear it without a case? Of course, because the device is so thin and light, I just would not want to be left with a broken screen.
The example Apple is indicative, but far from the only one, you just usually don't buy covers for test devices. But right off the bat I can remember the Galaxy S7 EDGE with sharp edges, which many immediately hid in a case, or any black smartphone with a glass lid, on which every fingerprint is visible.
I just wanted to draw your attention to the fact that despite the 'hundreds of hours of development', manufacturers do not always think about the practicality of their solutions. That is why users are forced to 'fix' these defects at the expense of covers.
Do you use covers? If so, why? To eliminate some kind of defect in the smartphone, or just out of a desire to protect it?
