Have you ever tried to choose something from a technique that you are not very good at? Air conditioner, TV or trimmer, for example? Then you probably know what a huge stream of information you have to go through before buying.

Today I would like to discuss with you the problem of a huge assortment in any area, from technology to clothing. From time to time I come across her myself when I need to choose something outside my direct competence, for example, an air conditioner, a TV or an electric shaver. Every time I first go to Yandex.Market, choose a model by parameters, start reading reviews and fall into a stupor.

Usually for five good reviews there is one negative, but my experience shows that it is he who is the most truthful. Once I bought some kind of gadget, now I don't even remember what kind of model it was, I saw many positive words about it and only one negative review. In the end, everything that was described in the negative text was significant for me! Since then, I have been much more attentive to all ratings of one or two stars.

In situations where there are reviews at all, you at least can indicate approximate guidelines for yourself, but it often happens that there are five models of air conditioners with identical characteristics and prices, but none of them have any reviews at all. Or here's another example – you decide to trust a selection of gadgets / technology from professionals, and there is half an article continuous advertising, and this can be seen even with the naked eye!

On the other hand, if you go to sites that review household appliances professionally, you will not understand much there either. They told you in detail about one model, but you do not understand some terms, there are no competitor reviews, etc.

Even in our industry, it will not be so easy for an outsider to figure it out right away, I see this from the massive messages on VKontakte, where people are just waiting for a ready-made smartphone recipe with very vague requirements. For example, 'Recommend a device up to 17,000 rubles'. And that's it, no diagonal, no important parameters – nothing. At first it was very annoying to me, but when choosing an air conditioner, I realized that I think exactly the same, and if I had a familiar expert in this industry, I would write to him in exactly the same way.

It is also very scary to buy expensive things without understanding the subject matter. Here, literally while writing this article, my cheap temporary glasses fell apart, I asked how much our readers paid for the frame, so there are amounts from 10,000 rubles and more. “It is foolish to save on yourself,” they comment, and I agree with that. But there is no guarantee that the expensive frame will not fall apart in a year.

Have you faced the problems of choosing a particular product due to the lack or, conversely, an excess of information about it? How did you get out in the end? It seems to me that apart from personal recommendations, there are no special options.
