I don't know about you, but unread notifications annoy me wildly. When I see this red circle with numbers, I have to go to the application and mark everything as read!
Hello dear readers! Today is the jubilee 150th issue of Friday's column, and it's a great occasion to thank all of you for reading, commenting on and reposting my articles. Separate gratitude should be expressed to our constant critics, who, over so many issues, tell us why they do not like certain posts. It took me a while to realize that these are our most loyal readers, browsing the site from cover to cover. So thank you all for staying with us!
For today's release, I chose one small but annoying little thing – the unread notification indicator. I don’t know about you, but I’m very annoyed by these round pieces with numbers. It's like a small pebble caught in a shoe and rage at every step. That is why I almost always immediately go to an SMS or letter and it is marked as read.
However, there is one problem that Google doesn't want to solve in any way. When a preview of a message or email comes in, you can't quickly mark it as read, and it's very, very annoying, I can't tell you how much. No, of course third-party clients like EvolveSMS can do this, but I would like to see such support in regular SMS messages and Gmail. By the way, some manufacturers provide the ability to quickly mark messages as read: Flyme from Meizu, ZTE Nubia UI and LeEco shell come to mind. But what prevents you from making it a standard Android?
I have long wanted to understand how common this annoyance with the unread message icon is. Please tell us in the comments how you feel about him? It annoys me terribly.
