Every time I ride the subway or bus, I always pay attention to what gadgets other people are using, from which tablet they watch a movie, which smartphone they use, which e-book they read. In fact, a gadget can say a lot about a person if you know where to look.
For example, from time to time I see women ages 55-65 reading with different versions of the Kindle. For a knowledgeable person, Kindle is an excellent e-book, it is simple and straightforward, you just need to set up an account and figure out a little about where to download books and how to upload them. But the workmanship and price-performance ratio for the entire line is very good.
However, a person from the street just won't buy a Kindle, they are not sold in federal retail, you will not find these books in Euroset or Svyaznoy, because these books are not officially delivered to us. This means that the book was either bought in an online store, or ordered directly from the United States. My experience shows that women 55-65 years old are rarely confident users of the network, so this book is most likely bought by children. And such a purchase is very indicative. This means that the son or daughter took the time to choose a worthy gift for their mother, got confused with its settings, perhaps even periodically fill it in with something when they come to visit. They care what the parent will use and want the best for him.
Another example is smartphones Xiaomi. The purchase of such a gadget is also indicative. Of course, these devices are already available in the same Svyaznoy, but it is unlikely that the sales consultant will directly point to them. Most likely, with a limited budget, the children ordered the device from a Chinese online store, reflashed it, set it up and already gave it to their mother or aunt. And they know for sure that for their 10-11 thousand rubles in the same Euroset, she would buy something many times inferior in characteristics and capabilities.
Acquaintance of elderly parents with modern electronics is a very important matter, I am always very pleased to note such invisible care from children.
P.S. And of course, I do not exclude the possibility that women are quite familiar with the Internet, ordered a smartphone or a book themselves and use them calmly.
