A week ago, the price of the new version of the good old third 'Heroes' became known, and today I would like to discuss with you how fair it is.
A week ago, Artem Lutfullin noted in his Twitter that pre-order for new 'Heroes' in HD quality at a price of 800 rubles began on Steam, and complained that, they say, the price for redrawing the models was too high. Artem said that for that kind of money you can now buy a completely new game, where the plot and graphics are made from scratch, but here we are simply offered a redrawn modification of the old game.
Personally, I disagree with Artyom, and here's why. First, in addition to updating the models of each creature and hero, Ubisoft also promises to adapt the game for Android tablets and iPad. In addition, devices on Windows will not remain without optimization.
Secondly, sometimes redrawing and fixing can take as much time as creating something from scratch. Here's a simple example: when you need to redo some text after someone, sometimes it can be sheer torture, especially if the author had a lot of grammatical, stylistic and factual errors. You can sit, look at this text and think: 'Lord, I'd better rewrite this article from scratch,' and this is often really easier.
Third, it is very important to understand one simple thing here. The release of the third 'Heroes' on tablets is an old dream of all fans of the game (and mine included). I remember that at a recent NVIDIA presentation, my colleagues from other publications and I discussed that if the developers at least made this game, the price would no longer play such an important role: “The main thing is that you can pay once and play without donation.” After all, the fans of the series are those who were 15-20 years old ten years ago, now they are independent adults who can afford to spend 1,000 rubles on their favorite game.
And finally, fourthly, thank God that Ubisoft limited itself to a 'horse price tag', and I think that we can expect a complete lack of donation in the game. This model is much closer to me than this awful freemium.
By the way, I looked at screenshots of the game here and was disappointed to realize that castles and the battlefield would not be optimized for widescreen displays, look at the screenshot below and you will understand everything. But the owners of iPad and Xiaomi Mi Pad, on the contrary, were lucky.
On the other hand, you can watch the map in full screen.
The game is less than two weeks away from release and I'm looking forward to seeing it in the Play Store. What can you say about the adequacy of this price? It is also important to remember that if the dollar did not rise, it is quite possible that the HoMM 3 HD would be sold in our country for 500-600 rubles. Pre-order in dollars costs just $ 15.
