On Wednesday, I had a busy day, and my Android smartphone was discharged by about 16-00. In doing so, I thoughtlessly left the external battery at home. All of this led to predictable, but somewhat amusing consequences.
In fact, I usually always take an external battery with me, but on Wednesday I assumed that I would go to the meeting and immediately go home. By the way, in the office I saw Artyom's Powerbank from Xiaomi and also thought why he needed it today, and at the same time received an answer to my question.

At about 15-20, I still had 12% of the charge, at that time I was in Auchan, shopping for food before the holidays. Seeing these sad numbers, I turned on the high power saving mode and 2G Only, hoping that I would have time to finish shopping.
And so, at 15-50 I leave Auchan and want to order a taxi from my smartphone. I open the corresponding application, and then the phone turns off in my hands! I realize with horror that I will not be able to call a taxi, as well as use a local one, since I had about 300 rubles in cash with me. It was possible to remove the 'cash' from the card, but I had just reached the limit for daily withdrawals (I set myself for security purposes). It can be easily changed via … a convenient mobile application, of course!

I had two options: use the services of 'bombed' near the shopping center and overpay twice, or try to charge my smartphone somewhere. Next to Auchan in the Gagarinsky shopping center there was a large MVideo, and I went there. I asked the consultants if it was possible for me to recharge my phone, they sent me to the service department, where the guys gave access to charging for free. After 10 minutes, I took the device and left, but it never turned on, apparently, it took more time for basic charging. It was a shame to contact MVideo again, in the end I went to the nearest MegaFon salon, mentally preparing to pay for this service (after all, Euroset and Svyaznoy take money for it). We must pay tribute to the staff of that salon, no one even thought to take money from me, and I recharged my device already there. Then he successfully called a taxi and drove home (and got into an hour's traffic jam, by the way).
And so I go home and think how much I relaxed with the advent of smartphones. How many different routine actions have been transferred to him. And how helpless you feel. Of course, this was a good lesson about the need to carry an external battery with you ALWAYS, but if you take the situation when your phone was stolen? Or did it crash? In general, for myself, I decided to think over possible 'escape routes' in such situations, so as not to get into a puddle again. Have you ever had such cases when a discharged smartphone was completely out of place?
