Today we will discuss an application with which you can monitor the location of the nearest bus / trolleybus / tram or even a minibus
I would like to start with a short introduction. As a child, I lived two tram stops from my school. Unfortunately, in the morning the trams were running with delays, and it was not clear when the next one would arrive. And so you stand at the bus stop, wait two or three minutes and realize that you can be late for school. You pass the first stop and half of the second, and then, as luck would have it, a tram passes by you. But it happens the other way around – you wait all the way, but there is still no tram, in the end you almost run to school.
17-18 years ago, the Yandex.Transport application would have helped me a lot. What does it do? In short, using Ya.Transport you can see where the nearest bus / tram / trolleybus or minibus is located, as well as watch its movement in real time.
Clicking on a bus opens its route on the map with a list of all stops, and when you tap on a stop, you are shown all routes stopping on it and the interval of their movement.
You can save your stops in your favorites so that next time you just open the corresponding 'layer' in Ya.Transport. True, for this you need to log in with your Yandex account. By the way, in addition to choosing a stop, you can also select the displayed routes.
And traditionally Yandex can view Yandex.Traffic jams to understand whether or not it is worth waiting for the next bus, here in the 'layers' there is also sorting of routes by type of transport.
To be honest, now I go by bus much less often than during school and student hours, I prefer minibuses more often (they go faster, wait less), and I don't have mine specifically on I. Transport. However, every time I am in an unfamiliar place and wait for a bus, I open Yandex.Transport and see where the nearest one is. To tell you the truth, it is very convenient, much more convenient than constantly non-working arrival boards.
P.S. I have no doubt that some of you have been using JT for a long time, but my experience shows that such applications are worth talking about, since many readers do not know about them.
