It happened this time too. Sitting at the computer, I lazily scrolled through the lists of offers from various sellers on eBay, which are formed for each user based on his previous requests, and on one of the pages my attention was attracted by a lot in which it was offered to buy Monster Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, namely the model , which once was bundled with a smartphone HTC Sensation XE / XL – Beats by Dr. Dre urBeats.
Despite my dislike for the products of these manufacturers, who have now divided the business for a long time, the offer itself interested me – only $ 20 with free shipping for original headphones, which at one time received very warm reviews from buyers and reviewers. Such a price-quality ratio (marketing charge) was a sin to overlook. And now they are on their way to me.
I will not dwell on the appearance in great detail, since a lot of time has passed since the release of these headphones and there have been plenty of reviews on the network.
First of all, I will share my impressions, and then we'll talk about how you can get them without spending a lot.

The first thing you pay attention to when you pick up the headphones is the weight. The body is made of metal, the cable is made of dense silicone resembling rubber – all this gives them weight. By the way, for me, as a fan of plastic, this weightiness turned out to be surprisingly pleasant. The same, forgotten since the days of old Nokia and Motorola feeling of a solid thing in hands.
The location of the remote control also seemed unusual – it is not on one of the sides, but is located exactly in the middle, and the wires to the headphones themselves are already coming out of it. Unexpectedly convenient. I definitely like this option – it does not pull and does not interfere with one of the sides.
The remote itself consists of two parts, a plastic surface with a microphone hole on one side and metal buttons on the other.
The buttons have a very short stroke, good sound, but not very clear click on tactile sensations. I would like a little more informational content. You especially feel this disadvantage in winter, pressing buttons with gloves.
The traditional red cable in the manufacturer's corporate style, which unwillingly straightens, retaining the memory of the turns for a long time. Hopefully it turns out to be reliable.
Another of its main drawbacks is that it is round. This is easy to explain – the model was developed before the flat cable industry craze. Because of this, the sections of the cable that follow the console are often tangled.
The plug is straight, no frills, but with a reliable body made of thick soft plastic.
At first, I didn't really like the designations of the sides on the headphone cases – not only are they in small print, it's also not so easy to find them on the surface overloaded with inscriptions.
But, having used them for literally half an hour, I realized one trick – you just need to take the headphones as if you are going to put them on and look at them. If you see the designations, it means you took the headphones correctly, if not, we swap them, and that's it. But this understanding did not come immediately.
A standard set of accessories arrived with the headphones – several pairs of replaceable ear pads of different sizes and geometries, as well as a clip and a cover with a neck on a flat spring. The presence of the cover pleases, although I do not like this type of them – they wear out very quickly and break just in the area of this spring.
Now about the sound
In short, the sound is typical for 'beats', rich, dark, with slightly cut high frequencies for the sake of a juicy, elastic bass, which, for my taste, is in abundance.
At high volume, you have to remove the lows a little, as a little buzz begins.
The headphones are not afraid of sudden changes and hold the attack well. Also, I hardly heard the 'sand'.
In general, the first impression of the sound is not bad. It lacks transparency, purity a little, but at the same time it is quite bright, rich and viscous. It's hard to explain in words, a strange feeling.
I prefer a quieter, unadorned sound. Immediately, the headphone settings were made clearly for the sake of electronic music with powerful bass. Actually, headphones are perfect for listening to this very electronic music. The classics are given worse to them – it turns out too club-like.
By the way, the size of the used ear cushions greatly affects the sound and the amount of bass, so I recommend you approach them carefully. The ear cushions fit the maximum size, while I use the medium size for the rest of my headphones.
Well, now a few words about why I decided to buy them and how it happened.

In fact, everything is simple – the price. As I wrote at the very beginning, the temptation to get high-quality headphones of a well-known brand for $ 20 turned out to be stronger than innate tightness, and the order was placed.
I also noticed that there are a lot of interesting headphone offers on eBay at the moment. In particular, there are many offerings of original Beats headphones from the old lineup. The headphones themselves are new, unused. Mine came to me in factory films and absolutely no traces of use.
Looks like someone is selling out warehouses. It's a sin not to take advantage of this – after receiving and testing these headphones, I ordered five more pairs from the same seller, just in case. Perfect as gifts.
In addition, there are many other models on offer. Almost all offers are within two thousand rubles.
In this case, the issue of delivery is acute, since almost all sellers who sell these headphones ship them only within the United States. Forwarding companies will probably have a grudge against me, but I'll tell you anyway. Many reseller companies that provide a US shopping address often have a promotion for newly registered customers – the first free shipping within a certain weight. So, a pair of headphones fits perfectly into this limit and arrives pretty quickly. However, in this case, there is a limitation – one delivery for one product. Several headphones cannot be ordered in this way. On the other hand, most have relatives. ?
Conclusion
At the moment, there are many similar offers on eBay, but the headphones are very quickly sold out, and new lots do not appear. Apparently, the warehouses are not endless and soon they will run out. If you love the sound of Beats, then it's time to make a purchase to get some pretty good headphones with sound that many will love. And as a gift, such headphones will look differently better and more presentable than any Fisher or Philips for the same money. And I will give these headphones to my brother – he loves the sound of Beats.
