IOS vs Android # 18. Speed and running time

I remember very well the times when users Apple looked condescendingly at the owners Android, who had everything slowing down and discharging in half a day. It's amazing how much the situation has changed since then, how exactly – we read in today's article.

I started using iPhones quite late, I think after the death of Steve Jobs. But I have an iMac at home and in conjunction with an iPhone it has a lot of advantages, plus I really like the design of applications on iOS, in my opinion it still looks better than the same Material in Android. But this is not what I wanted to talk about today.

My main machine is iPhone 6, I use it when I have nothing on the test. That is about 40% of the time. During this time I got used to iOS, its features and services. I like that I have a shared media library and notes on macOS and iOS that I can select text on a mac, press CMD + C and paste it on an iPhone, etc.

But there are two things that make me very upset about the new iPhones. The first is battery life. I am currently working on a review Asus Zenfone 3 and LeEco Le Max 2, and so, both smartphones not only last one and a half to two times longer, but also charge the same amount faster. In a little over an hour, I get 90% of the charge.

The second point is the speed of work. In today's presentation, Tim Cook showed a graph in which update rates at iOS are significantly higher than Android. But I forgot to add one important detail. Old devices sometimes start to work slower and frankly become dull with each new update. At the same time, the same Nexus only gets better after each update. Well, two or three years later, you can extend his life with the help of custom CyanogenMod.

I don't know how it happened, but over the past few years iPhones have lost two important advantages over Android – speed and battery life. And I, as a loyal user Apple, are very upset.

In the comments I would like to read your impressions of the speed and / or running time on Android and iOS.
