Someone was impressed by the new flagship from the company LG, some were skeptical, but in any case it differs from everything on the market. The 'fault' is the slot for modules, due to which you can seriously expand the functionality of the device. However, the accessories available since launch are designed for a very limited group of users each. So why not think about what you could add to them?
- For example, a hinged extended battery is not an obvious solution? It sticks to the bottom of the device and folds down to reach the fingerprint sensor. Thanks to the hinge, it can serve as a stand when unfolded. It is worth making such a 2000 mAh battery more capacious than the usual one, and people will be drawn to it.
- Or a thermal camera – partnering with Flir to make an accessory similar to their One camera, but to make it look like part of a phone when mounted on it. Honestly, you could sell more of these to industrial inspectors than those plug-in DACs of yours – to someone else.
- Фронтальный динамик – в LG сделали приоритетом качество звучания в наушниках, но как насчет заставить B&O добавить к ориентированному на аудио смартфону и приличные динамики?
- Wireless charging base – using Qi charging is strange, the charger looks awkward if the coil is placed at the bottom of the phone, as we understood from the BlackBerry Priv, but it's better than nothing. People love wireless charging, so why not give it to them soon?
- NERF Tactical Blaster Bar Mount – Place your phone on such a bar, turn it on, and you get augmented reality from NERF that will make the couch warriors buy a new phone. Of course, you have to reboot your phone every time, removing or setting it as a sight, but you can always keep your 'gun' nearby. Perhaps not the most practical solution, but very cool.
- Game controller – what if you made a controller module with joysticks, buttons and additional bumpers on the back of the phone? In portrait orientation this would work great with arcades or rail shooters, but landscape options could be added as well. As well as something for a comfortable grip and an extra battery to increase play time.
- Games are games, and here's a serious idea – a module for tracking health. Heart rate sensors, breath analyzers, blood glucose meters – and this is just the beginning. Specialized medical equipment that can be connected to a smartphone as an integral part of it – and at the same time a perfectly working smartphone – what medical professional would not enjoy having such a device on their patients?
Here are just a few ideas, but the possibilities of modular design look truly limitless. What has already been suggested LG is quite worthy, but there are a lot of niche application possibilities. What do you think? Are you interested in the already proposed solutions, or do you have your own ideas for extending the functionality of the flagship LG? Share in the comments!
