LG G6: wallpaper with its own history

Looking at the stock wallpapers of a smartphone, you rarely think of them other than CGI images, behind which there is neither soul nor history. But in the case of the recently announced LG G6, things turned out to be quite different.

The Korean company opted for a more personalized and creative approach. Their wallpapers are created using real physical objects – sheets of cardboard.

LG opened the curtain on how the work on the wallpaper took place. Indeed, it seems that too much work has been expended. The designers actually worked by hand: they drew circles with compasses, cut paper with knives, measured corners with protractors – who would have thought, people still use such things!

But if you think that then all this was simply put on the table and photographed, you will be only half right. The plastic and paper composition was suspended in midair so that the design team could experiment further with angles and lighting. When this work was completed, the composition was framed in a 2: 1 aspect ratio to simulate the aspect ratio of the G6's screen – and photographed. And so the wallpaper turned out.
