Master's notes. Column Xiaomi no longer sings

Hello!

Six months ago I bought myself a wireless speaker Xiaomi Round 2, which turned out to be a very useful purchase. From the very moment of purchase, the column was used almost every day and worked more than its money.

I am very used to having it. Small, handy, useful. And also due to the fact that, when connected to the device, the column spoke a phrase in Chinese, it even received the nickname 'penti chongu', which my girlfriend and I called the column among ourselves. You could often hear: 'Bring the penti to chong', or 'did you take' shongu '?

And then one day, when turning on the column, it did not say its trademark 'penti chong'. She didn't say anything at all. The indicator showed connection, but the 'penti chonggu' made no sound.

Resolved – disassemble.

It turned out to be easy to disassemble it. To do this, peel off the rubber base at the bottom and unscrew three screws.

After that, we will see the motherboard of the speaker, to which all the other elements are connected.

The first cursory examination did not reveal any external problems, and it was decided to disassemble further.

In fact, I was just curious to understand how the power and volume up buttons work. After all, the column does not have any buttons at all, and all control is carried out by pressing and turning the top part.

Having disassembled the column to the end, I realized that the problem is clearly not in the buttons.

We return to the board and take a closer look.

The culprit was found – a loop coming from the control board. And, judging by his condition, he is not new.

Even when I saw that the cable was damaged, it was not clear to me how it could get such damage, because the cable itself does not experience any stress during operation.

Apparently, the train was torn when the column was dismantled for some reason. And they sold it to me after the renovation, while they blatantly lied that it was new.

Remembering the purchase process itself, I realized once again that all my suspicions were not in vain – the column was unpacked, dirty and completely discharged. But at that moment I had no time to argue, because to take the same here and now, but in another place it was not possible.

And now he paid. Anyway.

So, we will try to restore the train.

We disassemble for easy access to the loop. We take our favorite binoculars, put the patient under the clamps and proceed.

First you need to clean the train from traces of previous repairs. Then prepare the wiring with which we will restore the torn veins. To do this, we dissolve the wire from the Chinese charger, which once already served similar purposes.

Cut off a piece from the loose vein and simply solder it to the train, connecting the torn ends. We repeat this one more time for the second broken vein.

After that, carefully glue the adhesive tape to the soldering point to strengthen the structure and avoid possible damage to the soldering point during assembly.

We assemble the column by connecting the ribbon cable, and check it before tightening everything completely.

Hooray, it worked!

Tighten all the screws and rejoice in the bouncy 'penti chong' again!

By the way, I was very surprised by the size of the speaker. With such a modest size, it produces a very good and loud sound.

Everything turned out to be even simpler than I expected – I didn't have to look for a burnt-out element, and then puzzle over where to get the donor. A train, just a train.

And I once again made sure that if there are doubts when buying equipment, then it is better to look for the same product elsewhere. For obvious reasons, I will not write about where exactly I bought the column. I hope that this is an isolated case and the three times when I found portable equipment with traces of exploitation with them were annoying misunderstandings, not a rule.
