Pending HTC 10

I decided to title this note so that it was immediately clear what it was about. The fact is that I am still waiting for good, kind test samples of the new flagship HTC to appear in Russia, and so far I cannot evaluate it personally, but I want to. And since I really want to, I decided to see what different publications and specific comrades who have already become its happy owners write about the device. First, it's interesting. Secondly, I have very high hopes for HTC 10 (despite the fact that I bought myself a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge)!

Design. In general, almost all reviewers agree on one thing: metal and glass are a good combination both in terms of how the smartphone looks and in terms of tactile sensations from the device. Everyone praises HTC 10 for these moments. There is a continuity of design, the dimensions are moderately compact, it is difficult to find fault with something, although personally I can – if I put next HTC One M8 (or M9) and a new HTC 10 next, then … personally I like the 'eight' more. The special texture of the material, polished metal, its shape and curves of the 'back'. But everything is fine here too!

Camera. What I expect most from HTC 10 is a quality main (and front-facing) camera. And, judging by the first reviews of the smartphone, the new flagship from HTC turned out to be literally damn good in this parameter. All commend the camera for the highest quality in HTC 10, highlighting its versatility.

The camera 'draws' a very decent boke

And he shoots well at night (very good)

Here is a comparison of cameras HTC 10 and a couple of other cameras for shooting at night.

And here are just good examples of shooting at HTC 10.

On the website android-softwares.com, you can make comparisons of different devices by cameras by choosing the model and the area of the frame (the same scene is filmed on each smartphone being monitored), play around there, it's also interesting.

The chip with autofocus and optical stabilization for the front camera, judging by the reviews, was left without attention. Observers note that, in general, the front camera in HTC 10 shoots with dignity, but some bright breakthrough (against the background of other smartphones, where there is no OIS for the front camera) is not noticed.

Screen. It's a shame it's not Super AMOLED, and judging by the first reviews, the display in HTC 10 is good, but not perfect. Some note not the maximum viewing angles, others say that the color reproduction could be a little more juicy, and almost everyone agrees that it is not a top-end IPS panel that is used here. You have to look at it yourself, that's what I'll say.

Performance. The device is built on the top Snapdragon 820 platform, and fortunately for all of us, this time Qualcomm got a good solution without those strange problems that plagued Snapdragon 810. Accordingly, all devices on the new chipset show excellent performance, and HTC 10 is no exception. Reviewers note the high speed, smoothness and, of course, record performance in Antutu and some other benchmarks (does anyone need them?).

Working hours. The battery life, as noted by many reviewers, is similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S7, that is, the battery is rated overall as 'good' or even 'excellent'. But here everything is very conditional and individual, so let's not get hung up.

Total: you could still see what they write about the shell, about the Sense update (in fact, the new version is praised for cool themes and several interesting solutions), about the sound in the headphones and in the speakers, but if you continue to study everything, it becomes sad that I still don't have HTC 10, so I suggest we stop there. In short, in almost all foreign reviews the smartphone is praised, I note a huge breakthrough compared to HTC One M9 and even M8. Yes, there were some drawbacks, but in general, everyone admires the fact that HTC have finally been able to make a decent device. There is only one objective drawback – a very high cost, in the States and in Europe the new HTC 10 turns out to be more expensive than most of the current flagships, including LG G5, for example. How will it be with us? It is not clear yet. I will try to get my sample HTC 10 as soon as possible and tell you all about it!
