How does it work
The module is attached to the contacts on the back cover, after which it is ready for use. The accessory has a separate shutter button to make shooting easier. Initially, I assumed that the module works in the same way as old cameras, that is, you will have only one attempt to take a good shot. However, after watching the official video, I realized that you have the opportunity to choose yourself whether to print a photo or not.
By the way, not only your own photos are available for printing, but also images from Facebook or Instagram, as well as Google Photos. You can apply one of the proprietary filters to your photos, or even make a frame with your signature before printing. The press release notes that 'Polaroid Premium ZINK® Zero-Ink® Paper prints high-quality, smudge-resistant 5 x 7.6 cm photo cards without using ink' and notes that the paper has a self-adhesive backing. that all received photos can also be used as stickers.
The battery is enough for 20 shots, and the module holds 10 sheets of paper. Wondering how expensive the new sheets will be?
What is it needed for?
It seems to me that most readers ask themselves this question when reading the description of this module. In my opinion, the accessory turned out to be purely emotional. Imagine you are at a party or birthday, clicked with a birthday boy and immediately printed a photo.
Another option is a picnic with children. It is much easier to persuade a child to stand quietly for a few seconds if he knows that he will receive a cool photo-sticker at the exit.
Conclusion
I believe that in 2017, manufacturers can no longer catch our emotions with ordinary technical characteristics or an interesting price, but accessories such as this module can cause the same forgotten 'wow effect' for a potential buyer.
It seems to me that the Polaroid Insta-Share MOD would be an appropriate purchase for the New Year holidays. It’s even a pity that he will appear in Russia a little later.
Of course, the $ 200 price does not make this accessory affordable, but it will definitely find its niche, especially since it has almost no analogues.
By the way, watch the official video demonstrating how the module works. It looks very impressive.
