A selection of old racing games available for free for Android.
People like to be nostalgic: for example, remembering old films and re-watching them with pleasure after a few years. The film may not be watched even to the end. But there will be a lot of emotions and memories associated with it. I remember games so often: I install, play for half an hour and calmly uninstall. Although sometimes it is different.
A week ago, I downloaded the Carmageddon game to my smartphone and stuck it for an hour. Even now I want to play more. So I decided to find some old arcade racing games to tell you about them.
Carmageddon (1997)
This game made a lot of noise. Carmageddon is an unusual racing game, you don't have to be the first to reach the finish line. The main thing is to survive, simultaneously knocking down people, animals and other objects on the map. Therefore, in some countries it was released with censorship, replacing people and animals with zombies or robots. And in Brazil, the game was banned for sale. Although Carmageddon's graphics can't be taken seriously right now.
Carmageddon has 36 cards. In each, you can earn three rewards: be the first to reach the finish line, destroy all people and animals on the map, or break the cars of your opponents. The difficulty is that a timer is running in the game. From the start, they give one and a half minutes, but the time can be increased by hitting the enemy or knocking down people – for this they give 8-10 additional seconds. Therefore, when playing the game as a race, not a battle, it is important not to forget about the timer. Time is running out – everything starts all over again.
For the victory they give money – loans. They are spent on upgrading the car or repairing it during the race. A new car can be obtained by taking it from a defeated enemy.
The graphics in Carmageddon are already outdated, but that only gives it its charm. It has excellent physics: cars skid when cornering, the body changes when hitting. The game fascinated me more than modern mobile arcades like Asphalt.
The game is also free on Google play . There is no advertising or I did not notice it. For real money, you can open all the levels without passing. I recommend it, very fun.

Crazy Taxi (1999)
The game about a crazy taxi driver appeared on slot machines and then it was ported to consoles, PCs and mobile platforms.
In Crazy Taxi you will have to 'taxi', but the main thing is to take the passenger to the point in a fun and fast way. The main profit is given for speed, but there are also bonuses for tricks on trampolines and hitting cars. Do not make it on time – the passenger will jump out of the car and you will not receive a dime. 
There is no global goal or plot in the game, you need to earn as much money as possible and have fun. There are several modes: for a limited time and arcade, when the game time depends on the quantity and quality of orders.
The game seems monotonous to me, but half an hour of trips around sunny San Francisco with provocative music will be fun. When the usual modes get bored, I recommend switching to Crazy Box mode. There you need to complete tasks: jump on the springboard as far as possible, burst all the balls the fastest and 8 other crazy tricks.
The game recently became free for Android, but shows commercials between levels. Advertising can be removed for 290 rubles.

Re-Volt (1999)
RC Car Racing has made it to Android in two variations. There is Re-Volt Classic – a port of the original game, and modernized Re-Volt 2: Multiplayer. I like the classic version better, but in the free version there are only two maps and 4 cars. The full version of the game costs 295 rubles.
Therefore, let's talk about the modern version of the game. Re-volt 2 uses the same tracks and cars as in the original game. But all modern elements were added to the mechanics – multiplayer through Google Play services, energy, coins, diamonds and other free-to-play signs. However, the gameplay remains the same.
Re-volt – racing with battle elements. Bonuses are placed on the map: rockets, balls with water, oil, acceleration and much more. There are 12 of them. The weapon helps to eliminate opponents and stop the pursuers. The 'Star', for example, stops the rest of the players for a second – this way you can instantly get from the last to the first place. Therefore, it is important to correctly approach the use of items.
There are 28 radio-controlled cars and 13 maps in the game. In Re-Volt 2, tuning for cars was added, but this is just another reason to pull money from the player. Cars were not modifiable in the original game.
I didn't manage to play Re-Volt 2 for a long time. There is energy that is spent on passing levels and sometimes you have to wait for the scale to fill. Therefore, if you do not mind the money, it is better to buy the original Re-Volt.
