I finally got back the Sharp Crystal 305SH smartphone, which I bought at the end of last year, already unlocked and ready to work in Russian networks. I waited for this event for more than two (or even three) months, because I wanted to use the device as a full-fledged smartphone, and not as a mini-tablet without the ability to insert a SIM card. And now the moment has come. In the next two weeks, I will prepare a review of the device for, and now I want to briefly share with you my first impressions, because I have already managed to make Aquos Crystal my main smartphone.
The main thing that I like about Crystal is its design, cool design with frames (there are actually none, there are beveled edges like a crystal) and dimensions. You only remember that this is a device with a diagonal of five inches when you put another smartphone (larger) next to it and see screens of the same size. Due to the absence of bezels on the left, right and above the display, Sharp Crystal has turned out to be compact against the background of other models with a similar screen diagonal. Yes, the smartphone is not thin, but personally I don't notice it. In the hand the phone lies just fine due to the beveled edges on the battery cover and the overall compactness in height and width.
The second important point is the cool screen. Despite the HD resolution (1280 × 720 pixels), the display in the smartphone is very high quality: bright, saturated colors, a cool system of automatic adjustment of various screen parameters (brightness, contrast, etc.) depending on external conditions, I have not yet figured out how it works, but overall the display is excellent and a pleasure to look at.
The obvious disadvantages are the lack of LTE support for the megaphone (it seems like it should work with mts), as well as problems with localization. You can't just take and 'roll' here more locale with the Russian language, you need root access. Again, 'root' also cannot be done in five minutes, I have tried several options so far and all unsuccessful ones, I will understand further. There is also a problem with fonts, I also have not yet solved it due to the lack of root, but I hope that as soon as I receive it, I will immediately solve this problem. While in some programs the Cyrillic alphabet is very stretched and looks, to put it mildly, scary.
I immediately replaced the standard launcher with a version from Google, as well as applications for SMS. Browser, documents, all of this was immediately replaced with proprietary Google programs, of course. Now I'm going to tune.
To summarize briefly – I like the smartphone, it has already met my expectations. At the same time, if you suddenly decide to look in the direction of this device, you need to understand that technically this is the device of the year around 2012, if not earlier. It's not fast, the cameras are mediocre, and the built-in flash memory is only 8 GB, it's good at least that there is a slot for a memory card. You need to buy Sharp Aquos Crystal only if the device causes you, as Sergey Kuzmin says, instant 'positive vibrations'. In my case, this is exactly the case.
