The idea for today's gatherings came to my mind during my next visit to IKEA. How exactly the Swedish store is connected with contactless payments – find out under the cut.
For one unpleasant reason (I'll tell you about it in tomorrow's issue of the Mobile Environment), I was forced to block two of my main cards and until they brought me a replacement, I had to use Corn from Euroset as my main card. I have already praised this card many times, but specifically today I would like to draw on the possibility of paying from its account using a mobile phone with an NFC module. My opinion hasn't changed much since the appearance of this feature – it's more ostentatious than a real benefit for the owners, but since I'm using the card anyway, why not play with this functionality? – I thought. Just yesterday I stopped by IKEA on business and decided to pay at the checkout using my smartphone. I ask the cashier to turn on PayPass, attach the card and .. the payment is declined! When I got home, I remembered that only PayPass is supported in IKEA, and Kukuruza's virtual card has a VISA payment system. And so I go home and think: how many people use this wireless payment at all? To what extent is it, in principle, necessary and important to people? For me, for example, there is no problem to get the card and just also attach it to the terminal. What difference does it make whether to take out a card or a smartphone? What do you say, dear readers? Do you use the payment option from your smartphone? Is this feature relevant to you?
P.S. Now, if my main bank introduced the possibility of paying from a smartphone and debited money from the main account, then I would gladly use such payments, while there is no such desire.
