We continue our acquaintance with the current model range of each of the smartphone manufacturers. This time we will focus on the line of devices from the Taiwanese company HTC. Once they started with the production of communicators for large brands, then they became large and began to produce devices for themselves, then there was a growth and expansion of the model range, so at one time I even got confused about smartphones myself HTC. Then the company gradually began to return to basics and present fewer models, focusing on each individual, rather than their number in general, although, to be honest, the company still has a too large and confusing lineup. Let's try to figure it out.
Budget segment
Smartphones costing up to about 150-160 US dollars, in Russia today these are devices in the segment up to 15,000 rubles (very approximately). Here HTC never had very many devices, even though the model range was expanding.
The devices in this segment presented in 2015 by the company are the HTC Desire line.
HTC Desire 320 / 326G / 520 – junior models with a 4.5 '' screen diagonal, a resolution of 854×480 pixels, 1 GB of RAM, a 5 or 8 megapixel camera and other features typical for very budget devices.
HTC Desire 526G DS is a device from the same league: 4.7 '' screen diagonal, 960 × 540 pixels resolution, 1 GB of RAM, 8 megapixel main camera.
HTC Desire 626G and 626G Plus – the top bar in the budget segment, if we consider models with a price of up to 15,000-16,000 rubles. Here is a 5 'screen, a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels, 1 or 2 GB of RAM (depending on versions) and a 13 megapixel main camera. And, by the way, this is the first of the listed smartphones, made in the corporate and recognizable design of the company, which was chosen for 'non-flagships' from about HTC Desire 610, then to Desire 820 and fixed with HTC Desire EYE.
Middle segment
Here are smartphones with a price, very conditionally, from 150 to 250-300 US dollars. In Russia, this is a huge segment of smartphones, so I won't even name approximate prices.
In the model range HTC, the middle segment is the most extensive. Here is just a list of models so you can understand: HTC One A9, HTC One X9, HTC One E9, HTC One E9 Plus, HTC One E9s, HTC One M8s, HTC One ME, HTC Desire 820, HTC Desire 826 and some others. Most of the devices are available in Russia, that is, I'm not listing any outlandish versions right now, although they are also available.
Of all this variety, I will single out HTC One A9 – for the price it is actually a flagship, for design and materials it is also a very decent device. But in all other respects, we have a device from the middle segment. HTC One X9 is a larger variation on the A9 theme. A 5.5 'smartphone based on Mediatek Helio X10 (which is much better than the Snapdragon 615 in the A9) and 3GB of RAM. Probably, in an amicable way, this device can already be included in the company's flagships.
Flagships
The most expensive devices in the manufacturer's model range, but also the most powerful and advanced in all respects.
Here HTC everything is complicated, as in other categories. For several years in a row, the company has been presenting flagships in the One line, at first it was actually HTC One X, followed by a string of simpler smartphones with prefixes S, V, XL, SC and so on. Later, HTC One appeared with the code name M7, and this classification remains to this day: HTC One (M8) and, finally, the current flagship for the international market – HTC One (M9). Now curl your fingers on your hand: the company's current flagships are also HTC One M9 Plus, HTC One M9 Plus Supreme Camera, HTC One M9s and HTC Butterfly 3.
Smartphone HTC One M9s – a slightly simplified version of the classic M9 – the device is built on the platform Mediatek Helio X10, has 2/16 GB of memory and a 13 MP camera (versus 3/32 GB + 20 MP ).
Smartphone HTC One M9 Plus has a slightly larger screen (5.2 versus 5 inches), higher resolution than HTC One M9 (2560 × 1440 versus 1920 × 1080), has a scanner fingerprint and a second camera on the back, in addition to the main one. The device also works on the platform Mediatek Helio X10.
In turn, the HTC One M9 Plus Supreme Camera is almost a regular One M9 Plus, but for the main camera they added laser focusing and optical image stabilization. Hence the name – 'super-duper-cool camera', if literally.
HTC J butterfly HTV31 – the flagship for the Japanese market, with a 5.2 'screen with a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels, on the platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, with 3/32 GB memory, a microSD slot, 20 cameras Mp (main) and 13 Mp (front) and protection from dust and moisture (IP57 certification). Later HTC took pity and released an international version of the smartphone – HTC Butterfly 3.
P.S. Which manufacturer we'll talk about next is up to you, leave your thoughts in the comments.
