In the comments under a small article about the lineup Xiaomi, I saw, to my surprise, to be honest, that many of you liked this format and needed to tell about all the other brands. Well, it will not be easy, so I will honestly say that first I will try to take those companies that are simpler and more modest in terms of the lineup. And only then, when there are no more of them, I will move on to large and serious corporations, where the line of smartphones has dozens of new devices and all kinds of modifications. Today we will look at another Chinese brand – Meizu.
Budget segment
Smartphones cost up to about 1000 yuan in China, for the rest of the world these are devices with a price of up to 150-160 US dollars, and in Russia, due to the rise in the exchange rate, today these are devices in the segment up to 15,000 rubles (very approximately). In China, Meizu has a line of budget devices allocated to a separate sub-brand – Meilan, but international versions of devices are deprived of this prefix and the models are simply called Meizu M1, M2 and so on. Like Xiaomi, Meizu has a smaller budget smartphone (Meizu M2) and a larger budget smartphone – Meizu M2 Note.
Compact device with a screen diagonal of up to 5 '' – Meizu M2 mini. An interesting fact – in fact, the smartphone is simply called Meizu M2, the prefix 'mini' was added to the device in the Russian company engaged in official supply and sale Meizu with us, for a clearer separation between the models note and mini. As a result, it caught on, so even in some Chinese online stores Meizu M2 is presented with the postscript 'mini'. In China, a smartphone costs 600 yuan, in online stores about 110-120 dollars, in Russia 12,000-13,000 rubles.
Phablet – Meizu M2 Note. A smartphone with a 5.5 '' screen, there is a slot for a memory card, cameras are not bad for this price segment. In China it costs 800 yuan, in online stores (Chinese) about $ 150, in Russia 15,000-17,000 rubles.
Middle segment
Here are smartphones with a price, very conditionally, from 1000 to 1500 yuan, or about 150 to 250 US dollars. In Russia, this is a huge segment of smartphones, so I won't even name approximate prices.
Of the current smartphones, Meizu has only one device in this category – Meizu M1 Metal worth 1,000 yuan. The device is based on YunOS, with 2.5D glass and a mechanical key under the screen, into which a fingerprint scanner is inscribed. In an amicable way, M1 Metal can be considered a budget employee, but for my taste, due to its appearance, it outperforms the same Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, for example, it looks more expensive. The smartphone is not officially sold outside of China, there is no international version of this device.
Flagships
The most expensive devices in the manufacturer's model range, but also the most powerful and advanced in all respects.
In 2014 Meizu moved away from the principle of creating one smartphone per year and switched to two lines – budget models M and expensive ones – MX. And in 2015, it was decided to further expand the model range, so a device with the PRO prefix appeared in the line of smartphones – the most productive, the most beautiful, the most technologically advanced and the most expensive.
But the MX series has not gone anywhere and the first flagship of 2015 from meizu can be considered exactly the smartphone Meizu MX5. A decent camera with laser focusing, fast platform and all the other characteristic features of an expensive smartphone are here. The cost in China is from 1,700 yuan, in online stores $ 230-250, in Russia 27,000-29,000 rubles on average.
Finally, the main flagship of the company in 2015 – Meizu Pro 5. A year earlier, the Chinese also introduced two expensive smartphones, then their separation seemed more logical to me, to be honest. Was just an expensive and good MX4, and also a very good (and very expensive) MX4 Pro. The 'Pro' prefix stood for high sound quality and the best component set at the time.
