Android P is already here, and despite the fact that most smartphone owners haven't even updated to Oreo, no one bothers to try to find out what awaits us. This is the ninth full version of the popular OS, and it brings many new features as well as improvements to what first appeared in Oreo.
ASUS
ASUS is expected to update to Android P devices in 2017 and 2018, including those that came with Nougat pre-installed. We're talking about the ZenFone 4 and ZenFone 5 lines and possibly the ZenFone 3s Max, which means devices like the ZenFone 3, including the Deluxe flagship smartphone, won't upgrade to P.

BlackBerry
Despite the fact that BlackBerry does not have many devices that need to be updated, it does not shine in this field. The company is in no rush to update to Oreo, so with Android P it's hard to expect anything else. Worse, we don't think any of the current devices will upgrade to P unless there is a surprise from the company, of course.

Essential
Essential is due to announce the second generation of the PH smartphone at the end of the year, and it should have Oreo preinstalled. As for the OG PH-1, which ran on the Nougat out of the box and will receive an update to Oreo, an update to Android P should arrive at the end of the year, especially since Oreo adds support for quick updates via Project Treble.

Gionee
The Chinese vendor Gionee hasn't updated any of its current devices to Android Oreo and doesn't seem to have any such plans at all. So here it makes no sense to assume any inclinations towards Android P. Unless you can expect devices with a new OS out of the box, perhaps sometime in 2019.
Google Pixel and Pixel 2 users can already download and install the Android P developer version. Testing will stretch for months before the stable release is released in Q3 2018 .

HTC
HTC has already updated a large number of its devices to Android 8.0 Oreo and can be expected to do the same for Android P. We would like to see the whole line HTC U got Android P, but it doesn't look like it will. But, of course, below is not the final list of devices HTC that will receive the P version. Also, we do not expect any other devices besides the U line to receive it.

Huawei
In the field of software updates Huawei is one of the most progressive companies. Not only was it among the first manufacturers to release smartphones on the Oreo version, but it also updated many devices to it, both under the brand Huawei and Honor. With that in mind, we expect things to go even faster with Android P and this year's Mate 20 line will get it out of the box.

LG
The mobile division LG is not doing well, which is why we did not see the LG G7 at MWC 2018 as the company is rethinking its strategy ahead of an expected massive comeback. For all its financial problems, LG does not refuse software updates, and there is no reason to expect any negative changes in the case of Android P, especially since not many devices will have to be updated.

Motorola
Motorola is no longer a priority choice for those looking for quick software updates. However, the owned Lenovo company has to upgrade to Android P a number of its devices, mostly the flagship Moto Z. Moto G4 Plus is lucky enough to be on the upgrade list to Motorola Oreo, but the Moto G5 Plus or even the G5S Plus cannot be. However, we hope this year's Moto G lineup will be updated to Android P.

Nokia
Nokia surprised many with the announcement that from now on it will release devices on Android One. The list has already made devices this year, with the exception of Nokia running Android Go. However, HMD promised that even the Nokia 1 will update to Android P, which means all current Nokia devices will get P, and for some, like the Nokia 8 Sirocco , the update is expected around the same time. as for Pixel smartphones.

OnePlus
After OnePlus disappointed a lot of its fans by not updating OnePlus 2 to Nougat, the company has done a lot of bug fixing by updating newer devices. However, we do not expect all current OnePlus running Oreo to update to Android P.

Oppo
If fast software updates are important to you, Oppo cannot claim to be your best friend. The Chinese manufacturer has a scratch to update its devices, be it regular updates or major OS updates. With that in mind, we don't even expect the newest Oppo R11s and R11s Plus to upgrade to Android P.
However, a miracle happened and the Oppo R15 Pro upgrade to Android P was possible. You can already download and install the developer version.

Samsung
Samsung's top 2017 and 2018 devices will be upgraded to Android P. Strong midrange devices such as the Galaxy A8 and A8 + may also upgrade, but this cannot be guaranteed. In contrast, almost all of the Korean giant's smartphones announced this year with Android Oreo out of the box will receive Android P, be it the Galaxy S line or Galaxy J.
What's even more interesting is that Samsung plans to update the three-year-old Galaxy S6 and Note 5 to Oreo, which possibly means the Galaxy S7 lineup could also be updated to Android P over time. Fingers crossed!
At the moment, we can say that if you have a Samsung smartphone announced in 2016 and earlier, including the top-end Galaxy S7 line, do not expect an upgrade to Android P. If this is a 2017 model, do not really hope, unless you don't have a Galaxy S8 or Note 8 flagship that is guaranteed an upgrade to P alongside the Galaxy S9 and S9 +.

Sony
Sony is one of the most consistent software updates from non-Google OEMs. Largely because the company is investing heavily in AOSP, which should accelerate the upgrade to Android P even more.
The update to Android P will lead this year's Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact, followed by their 2017 siblings, however we don't expect Sony to update the 2016 Xperia X lineup. The good news is that we expect the mid-range Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra to get P sometime in early 2019. Better yet, Sony's new 2018 phones could come with Android P out of the box.

Vivo
Vivo Like Oppo, regular software updates aren't particularly successful. However, the company's two newest phones, Vivo X21 and X21 UD, are included in the beta program Android P. This suggests that some smartphones that will be released this year will at some point will receive an update to P.

Vivo X21 | Yes | Q4 2018 (Beta available) |
Vivo X21 UD | Yes | Q4 2018 (Beta available) |
Xiaomi
Xiaomi does not have the best reputation for software updates, but the Chinese manufacturer is trying to fix the situation. Despite waiting for the update to Android P of many devices, it is obvious that Xiaomi only have a few models in the list, and the Mi 6 and Mi MIX 2 of 2017 are leading it.
Android Oreo was the last big update for Mi 5, Mi Note 2 and OG Mi MIX 2016. We also do not expect the popular Redmi Note 4 or even the newer Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro to be updated to P, however you can be sure that they will receive Oreo updates.

ZTE
ZTE has a variety of smartphones on the market, but only one is guaranteed to receive Android Oreo – the flagship Axon 7 of 2016. Despite the large number of smartphones, we do not expect them all to be updated to Android P. In fact, it is possible that ZTE will only update two of its current devices – the Nubia Z17 and Nubia Z17s, which were released in 2017.

Other smartphone manufacturers on Android
As you may have noticed, only popular smartphone manufacturers were included in the list. Brands such as Meizu, Micromax, YU, Xolo, LeEco, Lava and others were not intentionally included here. The point is, you are unlikely to get an update on any of their devices. If this happens, information can be added to the material, but you should not particularly hope for this.
If you do not find your device in the list, it means that most likely it will not receive an update until Android P.
