The M.Video-Eldorado group found out which smartphones were in the greatest demand among Russian buyers in the first six months of 2019. For the first time, four models of Chinese brands entered the top 5 best-selling smartphones at once, with the model Honor 7A becoming the leader.
According to the M.Video-Eldorado Group, in the first half of the year, the Russian smartphone market amounted to 13.5 million devices and 216 billion rubles, which is 6% in pieces and 12% in money more than a year earlier.
The most popular smartphone in Russia at the end of the first half of 2019 was Honor 7A, three more models Honor entered the top 5. The ranking also includes one model from Xiaomi – Redmi 6A and Samsung – Galaxy J2 Core. In the past four years, in January-June, the top five most popular smartphones were mainly Samsung models or Apple.
According to the results of the first half of 2019, Honor occupied about 24% of the Russian market in pieces. Its sales increased 2.1 times, which was the best result among all brands. Several dozen of the manufacturer's smartphones are presented in most price segments (except for more than 50 thousand rubles), which allows Russians to make a choice based on the available budget.
In the first half of the year, the demand for smartphones is actively growing in three price segments: from 5 to 10 thousand rubles, from 10 to 20 thousand rubles (together they occupy 70% of the market) and more than 50 thousand rubles. The best selling devices in the low and mid ranges were Honor 7A and Honor 8X, respectively. Among premium devices, the most popular was the iPhone XR 64 GB.
