ESET: Russia leads in number of cyber threats for Android

ESET antivirus company prepared a report on current mobile threats for Android detected in the first half of 2019, which notes that the largest number of malware was detected in Russia (16%), Iran (15%), and also on the territory of Ukraine (8%).

After analyzing the activities of cybercriminals and popular attack patterns, experts came to the conclusion that the number of vulnerabilities Android – devices has decreased, but the share of truly dangerous malware samples has increased markedly.

Thus, the number of mobile threats decreased by 8% compared to the same period in 2018.

At the same time, 68% of detected vulnerabilities are critical for the normal functioning of smartphones and tablets on Android, or for the security of personal data of users. This figure is significantly higher than it was last year.
