NVIDIA announced that Russian users of its NVIDIA SHIELD TV media player gained access to Russian-language content with Dolby Atmos sound at the Okko online cinema.
Recall that Dolby Atmos technology creates powerful moving sound, ensuring its precise positioning and movement throughout the room. Instead of sound channels, Dolby Atmos works with sound objects – any sound information accompanied by metadata about its position in three-dimensional space. This allows audio to be reproduced with pinpoint fidelity, delivering amazingly clear, crisp, and versatile sound that fills the entire room.
For Russian users, films with Dolby Atmos support have been available in the Okko online cinema since November 2017. Okko became the first Russian VOD service that made it possible to watch movies in Dolby Atmos at home. In July 2018, high quality audio for the home was made available to owners of NVIDIA SHIELD TV media players.

Okko users can buy and download a movie they like in high quality (UHD / 4K, HDR), rent content for 48 hours, or watch it through the Okko app on Smart TV, through a mobile app, or on the okko.tv website by subscription. Okko plans to further expand the list of films with Dolby Atmos sound.
