Google: share of devices with Android Lollipop and Marshmallow continues to grow

Google has published a regular monthly report on the relative number Android of devices, depending on the version of the operating system they are running. The presented report, like a month ago, shows a growth trend in the share of Android 5.x Lollipop devices and a twofold increase in devices with the latest version Android 6.x Marshmallow, as well as a simultaneous decline in the share of other versions .

Recall that the data obtained was collected during the last week – until March 7, based on the results of Android devices appealing to the Play Market online store, where one can note the achievement of a share of 36.1% for Android 5.x Lollipop devices and 2.3% for Android 6.x Marshmallow.

Recall that the collection of data for this report is carried out according to a new method, where now devices with versions of operating systems earlier than Android 2.2 that do not support the new version of the Google Play Store, which allows measuring the number of devices actively connecting to the store applications. In addition, operating system versions with a percentage of less than 0.1% are automatically excluded from the report.
