Kaspersky Phound! finds your smartphone for free

Kaspersky Lab has introduced a new free application for protecting information and smartphones based on Android – Kaspersky Phound !. The name of the new program, formed from the English words Phone (phone) and Hound (hound) and consonant with the English Found (found), speaks, according to the developers, for itself: the tool will help you quickly find a lost gadget and prevent valuable data from falling into your hands attackers.

According to the company, according to a study conducted among Internet users, every eighth respondent in Russia lost a smartphone or tablet as a result of his own negligence or theft. At the same time, 68% of Russian users store highly confidential information on their devices and are afraid that someone might see it.

Kaspersky Phound! was created to prevent such unpleasant situations. For example, if a user thinks that he has lost, or his phone or tablet has been stolen, the Siren function will help him – a loud sound that the device will make until the user enters the secret code.

In addition, the mobile application provides its owner with the ability to remotely manage the device and data on it through a single portal My Kaspersky. In case of loss or theft, the user can quickly lock the device and determine its location on the map using GPS, GSM or Wi-Fi networks. To facilitate the search, you can take photos of the owner of the phone from the front camera or send a message to the device's screen asking you to return the device.

As a last resort, Kaspersky Phound! allows you to remotely erase all personal data from the device and from the SD card: contacts, messages, photos and other information, as well as, if desired, return it to the factory settings.

Kaspersky Phound! is already available in 8 languages, including Russian, in the official Google Play Store.
