LeEco unveils smart bikes for the US market at Android

The Chinese company LeEco has introduced two smart bike models (road version and mountain bike) for the North American market, running a modified version of the operating system Android, named by the manufacturer BikeOS.

The bikes themselves are made from Torey T700 carbon fiber and feature touchscreen displays to help owners track their location and the effectiveness of their workouts. The road version weighs just 8.4 kg with an 11-speed transmission.

The mountain bike is also made from carbon fiber (frame and handlebars) and features an SR Suntour XCR Air fork with 27.5-inch (650b) wheels, hydraulic brakes and an 11-speed drivetrain, all weighing just 12.2kg.

The electronic stuffing, running the BikeOS operating system based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, includes a 4-inch touchscreen display, a quad-core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 and a 6000 mAh battery. HERE maps are used for navigation. The built-in GPS / GLONASS navigation capabilities, electronic compass, accelerometer, barometer, light sensor, separate measurement of wheel and shaft speeds, as well as the ability to connect external sensors, including a heart rate sensor and a power sensor, are used to collect information.
