LG and Google introduced smartwatches on Android Wear 2.0 platform

Companies LG Electronics and Google have officially introduced smartwatches on the operating system Android Wear 2.0 – LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style, whose global sales will begin on February 10 in the US. Later in the month, the watch will be available in major markets in Europe and Asia through the online Google Store and at select retail stores.

The LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style are equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, specially designed for new generation wearable electronics. Both models come with Google Assistant preinstalled. The watch LG Watch Sport supports the Android Pay payment system based on NFC contactless payment technology. Both devices feature a user-friendly user interface, advanced messaging and fitness tracker features in the Google Fit app.

As a reminder, the operating system Android Wear 2.0 is supplemented by Google Assistant, which can be used directly on the watch. So you can reply to messages, create reminders, find out the location of objects. To do this, just press the power button and say: 'Ok Google'. The Google Fit app tracks a person's physical activity, marks achievement of set goals and provides training recommendations. In addition, you can download applications from the Google Play Store, available directly on your watch.

The watch LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style have circular displays. The watch has a rotating wheel – a power button that can be rotated for easy menu navigation. Using the wheel, you can read messages, scroll through application menus or notification lists. You can also customize the look of the watch face. Up to eight blocks of information can be displayed on it to immediately receive all the necessary information. You can use handwriting recognition or on-screen keyboard input to reply to a message. Alternatively, the response text can be generated automatically using Google's Smart Reply machine learning technology.

This model supports mobile networks of the 4G LTE standard, and has a number of functions that allow you to use the watch almost independently of your smartphone. The watch is capable of running applications without connecting to a smartphone. In addition, they are equipped with a built-in GPS receiver – something that athletes and joggers will appreciate. Thanks to the support of technology Android Pay, to make a payment, you just need to bring your hand to the reader.

The device is equipped with a bright, circular P – OLED display with a diameter of 1.38 inches (35 mm). The watch case is made of 316L stainless steel. The case is 10.79mm thick and is IP67 rated, so even in the rain you don't have to worry about getting hurt.
