The South Korean company LG Electronics has officially unveiled its new smartphone – LG V10, which is distinguished primarily by the presence of an additional color information display, a dual front camera, as well as an attractive appearance.
The manufacturer positions this smartphone as a multimedia device with advanced capabilities, including, among other things, completely manual camera control. At the same time, the body of the novelty is made of high-quality stainless steel and a wear-resistant silicone coating.
As noted above, in addition to the main 5.7-inch display, LG V10 has another one – informational, which works separately from the main one and information on which can be displayed in the 'Always display' mode in order to increase productivity and increase the battery life of the smartphone. The second screen can display weather forecast, date and time, battery level when the main screen is off. When both screens work simultaneously, the user can place shortcuts of frequently used programs on the additional screen. In addition, during the game, the second screen will display information about incoming messages, incoming phone calls, etc., without interrupting the game process.
According to the manufacturer, the goal of installing a dual 5MP front camera is to expand the angle of coverage up to 120 degrees without the use of huge lenses and the panning process that increases the chance of getting 'shaky' images. To capture wide-angle shots with the front camera, the V10 uses special algorithms to control the cameras and image processing from the two lenses. In addition, LG V10 can simultaneously shoot from all three cameras at once, and the user can later choose which picture to keep.
The company also emphasizes that the V10 has advanced built-in tools for working with photos and videos, and the smartphone itself is the first device that offers its owners to take advantage of the full manual control of all shooting modes (photo and video): shutter speed, ISO, white balance , adjust focus during video recording, select resolution (HD, FHD, or UHD) or aspect ratio (standard 16: 9 or cinematic 21: 9).
Among other features of LG V10, the company notes the following features for working with content:
- Steady Record: Electronic Image Stabilization
- Snap Video: Create one video from several short ones
- 15 Sec. Auto Edit: Creates short videos with automatic removal of blurry frames and static scenes
- Quick Video Editor: Easily crop or change frame rates with the ability to add post effects such as coloring and background music
- Quick Share: When the recording ends, a pop-up message appears with a suggestion to post the video to popular social networks and services
- Audi o Monitor: adjust the sensitivity of the three microphones during video recording and directly monitor and control the audio input, incl. directionality of the recording, highlighting the sound from one specific place
- Wind Noise Filter: Reduces the sound of wind when recording video outdoors
LG V10 supports microSD memory cards up to 2TB, which is beneficial for 4K video recording, and the use of removable rechargeable batteries with a capacity of 3000 mAh is designed to extend shooting time, while support for Qualcomm fast charging technology Quick Charge 2.0 dramatically reduces charging time – just 40 minutes of charging charges the battery up to 50%.
LG The V10 has a resilient Dura Guard display frame to resist hard shocks and drops, while the case frame is made from high quality 316L stainless steel – tough and hypoallergenic for surgical instruments and high-end watches. Since the edges and corners of mobile terminals are the most vulnerable, the manufacturer provided its new product with additional protection in the form of a frame made of Dura Guard.
The back and bottom of the smartphone are protected by the resilient and soft Dura Skin material, which is soft to the touch, but very resistant to dents and scratches. What's more, the mesh back panel has been specially designed for a more secure grip. This ensures the LG V10 meets military MIL-STD-810G standards for shock and drop protection.
Among the audio capabilities LG V10, there is a 32-bit Hi-Fi DAC from ESS Technology, automatic detection of connected devices with setting preset parameters for each of them. LG claims the V10 is the first commercial product to use Qualcomm's TruSignal technology, which intelligently manages the antenna signal, optimizing it to reduce the number of missed and diverted calls, no matter how you hold the smartphone.
Along with the popular proprietary Knock Code feature, LG V10 is equipped with a new fingerprint scanner that is compatible with payment service Android Pay.
LG The V10 goes on sale in South Korea this month, followed by the United States, China and other key markets in Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
