Google has released a new version of the operating system Android 8.1 Developer Preview, intended for testing by application developers so far and which includes a number of improvements, including optimization for Android Go (for devices with 1 GB of RAM and less) and a new API for neural networks. In addition, several small enhancements have been added in response to user and developer feedback.
Google notes that the final version Android 8.1 Oreo will be released in December this year.
In the meantime, the test version Android 8.1 Developer Preview is available for users of the following devices: Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and emulator Android.
