Rimowa, Lufthansa and e-paper suitcase

I try to write in our blog about the most interesting things related to electronics, I could not pass this news. All in all, two truly great companies, Rimowa and Lufthansa have teamed up to make check-in easier, if you don't know Rimowa makes great luggage. The suitcase has an E Ink Mobius display, as you can see it is electronic paper.

You download the Lufthansa app to your smartphone from Android (or iOS), pair it with your suitcase using Bluetooth and your baggage information is linked to your ticket and airline systems. It's not entirely clear what the simplification of check-in is – unless you just have to leave your luggage and leave, but what about weighing? Another thing is that a boarding pass could be sent to the display for luggage in the cockpit, but it can get onto a smartphone or smart watch. In general, the story is not entirely clear. But probably in the right direction.
