South Korean company Samsung Electronics has officially announced the Galaxy Tab Active 2, which it claims is intended for use by top executives around the world, while offering increased protection against external influences and created in partnership with companies such as IBM, ecom instruments, Gamber-Johnson, RAM Mounts, iKey, OtterBox, and Koamtac.
Samsung emphasizes that the Galaxy Tab Active 2 has support for the Maximo platform IBM, designed for asset management (including production, transport, infrastructure, utilities, buildings and structures, as well as IT assets ) and work outside the office.
Solutions from Gamber-Johnson and RAM Mounts are used as suppliers of professional cradles and computer mounting systems for industrial use. Thanks to the explosion-proof solutions from ecom instruments, the novelty can be used in the oil, gas, pharmaceutical or chemical industries. Koamtac provides compact barcode scanners, and plug-in keyboards include OtterBox and iKey.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 is MIL-STD-810 certified. This means it can withstand extreme pressure, temperature and climate changes, shocks and drops. The degree of protection against ingress of water and dust meets the classification of IP68, and the use of a special bumper allows the Galaxy Tab Active 2 to withstand drops from a height of up to 1.2 meters. Well, its touchscreen display allows the user to work with the tablet with gloves or with wet hands.
For the Galaxy Tab Active 2, as well as for the Galaxy Note series phablets, the S-Pen stylus is available, with which you can work with the tablet even in the rain.
Compared to the first version of the Galaxy Tab Active, the second has updated cameras – an 8 MP main camera with autofocus and a 5 MP front camera, face unlock function, a fingerprint scanner, as well as support for augmented reality technology, NFC and connection to mobile networks of the fourth generations.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 will be available in Europe at the end of next month for 499 Euros.
