Many things are so obvious that you just stop thinking about them. For example, if you do not tear yourself away from the screen of a laptop, tablet or smartphone for days on end, you can severely plant your eyesight. A banal fact that most people remember at best a couple of times a year.
Of course, technological progress does not stand still. Old screens from the 90s and their modern counterparts are as different from each other as a monkey is from a person. And it's not only about the size and beauty of the picture, but also about the impact that they have on our eyes. Indeed, in fact, there are a lot of reasons why eyesight can fall from excessive enthusiasm for a computer. And most of them are no longer relevant today. If the first computer monitors literally killed the eyes, then their modern counterparts are dangerous to about the same extent as the city air smelling of gasoline or some Coca-Cola, whose composition is also very far from natural. No one argues that there is little good in all this – but living in general is harmful.
Nevertheless, some of the causes of visual impairment are relevant to this day. In particular, despite the non-stop race of technologies, the image on the monitor is by its nature still quite different from the real picture outside the window. It is formed in a different way and affects our eyes in a different way, which were not initially adapted to it. It is believed that the main negative effect on the eyes is provided by the shortwave part of the spectrum of such an image, which includes the violet and blue colors. To reduce the harmful effect, you can use special computer glasses or lenses that are slightly tinted yellow or brown.

However, this time we will not talk about glasses, but about a smartphone program that allows you to achieve a similar effect. She applies a filter to the image that slightly mutes the colors and makes them more familiar to the eye.
There are not many settings in the program. First of all, this is the choice of color and transparency of the filter, as well as settings for displaying the application icon in the status bar.
You can enable and disable the filter in one click. In the comments to the program, many complained that because of it, the smartphone starts to slow down, but I did not notice anything like that. Perhaps it all depends on the specific device.
I don't know if there is any sense from all this. Most likely – there is, because there is no doubt about the usefulness of the same computer glasses. Another thing is that it is not entirely clear why buy an expensive smartphone with a high-quality screen, a good supply of brightness and excellent color reproduction, so that then with one press of a button, completely kill all the advantages of such a display. Isn't it better to just look away from the smartphone screen more often and sometimes look around? I am sure that there will be no less benefit from this. What do you think?
