Game review King of Thieves

A relatively new hit from ZeptoLab, all hands did not get to try it in practice. The impressions, let's say, are mixed.

Introduction

To be honest, I'm a big fan of Cut The Rope, I went through all three parts in due time, most of all I love the first, the biggest, and the most, in my opinion, interesting. And now the company announces King of Thieves, how not to try it?

Game controls and mechanics

The controls are extremely simple – one tap and our 'thief' jumps, double tap and he jumps twice. It's important to remember, however, that double jumps are only propagated if you need to climb a wall. If you are trying to dodge obstacles, then double jump will not work, I got used to this feature for a long time. The little thief himself moves in one direction, to start moving in the other direction, you need to push off the wall.

At first, circular fixed saws become your main obstacle, later red moving monsters and cannons firing shells will be added to them. As you progress through the game, the number of different obstacles will increase. By the way, when attacking the dungeons of other players, the obstacles have a counter, if you 'stumble' over the obstacle a certain number of times, it disappears, however, your reward decreases.

Before starting to complete the level, you need to open the lock. In fact, it takes a key (the number is indicated above) and a little luck to choose the right lock. For each error, one key is written off from you. Keys are restored one by one every four minutes. In fact, it is the keys that are the limiter in the passage of the game. If you run out of a key, then you need to either wait, or receive two keys for watching a 15-30 second video, or purchase keys 'for diamonds', diamonds are bought for real money, or are obtained as a reward for getting a new level.

The game itself is divided into three parts:

Passage of levels. You just break into the treasures of the computer, go through them and get rewards for them.

Hunt dungeons of other enemies. The battle is no longer in the usual treasury, but in the dungeon of another player, of course, he himself places the monsters in such a way that it is as difficult for you to rob him as possible.

Upgrade your own treasury. Of course, you can also be attacked, so you need to improve your own dungeon. By the way, the developers have come up with a very fair mechanics for creating protection. After you have placed the monsters in your treasury, you need to go through it yourself twice. This is done to prevent players from making impassable levels. As you progress through the main levels, new treasures become available. Actually, why do you need to defend your dungeon? It contains your jewels that determine your level in the 'league', only six leagues, the more treasures you have, the faster you progress through the level. By the way, there are totems in the dungeon, with the help of which jewelry can be upgraded, increasing their value.

Conclusion

To tell you the truth, the game captured my attention from the first minutes, I figured it out for ten minutes and then played the first half hour with great pleasure. Until I ran into key restrictions and long upgrades. As a result, you either have to play for ten minutes and then wait an hour, or watch tons of ads to get a couple of extra keys.

For me personally, the freemium distribution model completely killed the interest in King of Thieves, it's a pity that ZeptoLab went exactly this way.
